Entry requirements
- be an Australian citizen, Australian permanent resident or NZ citizen
- You will need to be at least 18 years old.
- Pre-training review to ensure student has the appropriate level of Language, Literacy and Numeracy to achieve the competencies. Where a test result is supplied, it must be within the last 12 months.
- A working with Children Check and in some workplaces, a Police Check, to be accepted into work placement for this qualification
This course is eligible for government funding which covers the full tuition fee.

Outline
This qualification reflects the role of workers in a range of community settings and client homes, who provide training and support in a manner that empowers people with disabilities to achieve greater levels of independence, self reliance, community participation and well being. Workers promote a person-centred approach, work without direct supervision and may be required to supervise and/or coordinate a small team.
